Peace in the In-Between

Some of the hardest moments in life happen in the “in-between.”
The space between:
what was and what will be,
certainty and clarity,
comfort and calling.
Transitions can feel unsettling.
At graduation, many students feel excitement and fear at the same time.
“What if I’m not ready?”
“What if I fail?”
“What if I don’t belong?”
The disciples felt that same tension in John 14. Their entire world was changing.
And Jesus responds with this:
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart.” — John 14:27
Notice: Jesus doesn’t promise the absence of difficulty. He promises His presence in it.
Biblical peace is not pretending everything is settled. Peace is trusting Jesus while we are still in the middle of it all.
Jesus also promises the Holy Spirit, the Helper, Advocate, and Comforter.
We are not abandoned in our uncertainty.
God comforts us through His Spirit.
And while we may never feel completely settled, we are not alone in this journey.
