Scripture:

Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

One of the enemy’s favorite lies is making us believe we’re random, unnoticed, or unnecessary in the Kingdom of God. Maybe you’ve looked at your life and wondered, Do I really have a place? Does God actually want to use me?

Ephesians answers that question clearly: yes.

You are God’s workmanship. That means your life is not accidental. Your personality, your experiences, your story, even the ways God has carried you through hardship—none of it is wasted. God didn’t just save you from sin; He saved you for something. Before you ever knew Christ, God had already prepared good works for you to walk in.

That changes how we think about church, purpose, and even ordinary life. Following Jesus isn’t just about attending services, sitting in a seat, and hoping to make it to heaven one day. It’s about stepping into the purpose God has already laid before you. There are people you can encourage, needs you can meet, prayers you can pray, conversations you can have, and gifts you can use that no one else can offer in exactly the same way.

Sometimes we assume purpose has to look big and dramatic. We think if God has a place for us, it must involve a spotlight or a title. But most of the good works God prepares for us look very ordinary—serving quietly, loving faithfully, giving generously, encouraging someone who’s struggling, showing up when someone else is hurting. In God’s Kingdom, ordinary obedience is never small.

If you’ve been questioning whether your life matters, hear this today: God has a place for you. Not because the church is trying to invent one, but because God already prepared one. Your role may not look like someone else’s, but it still matters deeply. The goal isn’t to compare your calling to another person’s. The goal is to say yes to the work God has placed in front of you.

You are not just filling space in the body of Christ. You were designed to make a difference.

Prayer:

Father, thank You that my life has purpose in You. Thank You that You didn’t just save me from my past, but saved me for a future filled with meaning and good works. Help me believe that You have a place for me in Your Kingdom. Open my eyes to the opportunities around me, and give me the courage to walk in what You’ve prepared. Keep me from comparing myself to others, and help me be faithful with what You’ve placed in my hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
